8. Surah Al Anfal (The Spoils of War) Name. The Surah takes its name Al-Anfal (The Bounties) from the first verse. The Period of Revelation. It was revealed in 2 A. When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying): I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve.
